Reds fans complete Walk in Aid of DSY

Barnsley fans have already raised over £1000 in aid of DSY, by holding a sponsored walk from Barnsley to Huddersfield. The walk, which set off from Barnsley’s Oakwell ground, followed a route through Darton, Kexborough, High Hoyland, Clayton West, Skelmanthorpe, Shelley, Kirkburton, Waterloo, and then onto The John Smith’s Stadium, for the Huddersfield Town Vs Barnsley match.

htstart Reds fans set off at 5.30am from Oakwell

Setting off at 5.30am, the fans made good progress, arriving for Breakfast at the Foxglove Pub in Kirkburton, at 10.30am. They then continued onto the Aspley Marina, and finally onto the Ground, where, at half time they were given a standing ovation from both sets of supporters.

The walk received media coverage on Radio Sheffield, and was supported by The Barnsley F.C. Supporters Trust. Thanks also to Huddersfield Town Community Trust for the donation of match tickets and parking passes.

It’s not too late to donate.
