Employee Profile – Gus Singh
Gus Singh has been working for DSY for a number of months, having been referred by Real Employment in Huddersfield.
Gus was working at Tescos, but had ambitions to expand his work experience, with an interest in administration.
Gus has been placed at Shelley F.C., where his responsibilities have included updating the club’s databases, preparing match programmes, and other administrative tasks. He has also become involved in the Club’s Thursday “Good Mood” Football sessions, where adults with a history of mental illness meet over a friendly game of football.
Gus has broadened his knowledge and skills, by attending The Flame Event in Dewsbury, and by helping motivate people to get involved in Sport.
Speaking about his experiences so far, Gus said:
“It has made me more confident and given me more experiences in dealing with different situation. I enjoyed helping people get generally motivated to get them active.
I feel better about myself and like working hard, being on time and being honest and trying to do the best I can do for my customers, colleagues and bosses.”
Gus hopes that at the end of his placement with DSY and Shelley F.C. he will be able to gain a permanent role in business administration.
