Denhale Active Recreation Centre Terms and Conditions

  1. Terms and Conditions
    1. All users of DARC must abide by these terms and conditions otherwise use of the building may be withdrawn. DSY@Denhale reserve the right to change these from time to time in which cases notices will be displayed throughout the building.
  2. Users of the Building
    1. Each user of the building must sign in and out on every visit to the centre.
    2. Groups must ensure their members are signed in and out at every session.
    3. he management of DARC reserve the right to ask any user or group in breach of rules, or displaying conduct which in the view of the management is offensive to other customers and/or staff or represents a health and safety danger, to leave the building. Any repeat breach of the rules will result in permanent barring from the Centre.
    4. Users must observe single sex changing and toilet facilities, using this appropriate to their gender at all times.
    5. Accessible facilities have been provided for strict use only by disabled users, their personal assistant and family.
    6. Any persons wishing to conduct private coaching, training, instructing or teaching in any facility must obtain the prior permission of the management.
    7. All facilities must be vacated by all persons at the specified closing times and the last admission is 45 minutes before the centre closes for the day.
  3. Bookings
    1. Bookings may be made between 9.00 – 17.00 hours Monday to Friday.
    2. Groups making bookings must pay at the time of booking.
    3. Sessions can be booked up to 7 days in advance by telephone or in person. Users who fail to attend pre-booked activities will be charged the full casual rate for the activity concerned. Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours in advance.
    4. Cancellation of sports hall bookings must be made by giving 7 days notice or in special circumstances with the agreement of the manager by giving 48 hours notice.
    5. All those failing to cancel a pre-booked activity will be charged at the full fee for the activity.
    6. Users with outstanding payments will not be permitted to book/attend activities until the payment has been cleared.
    7. Cancellation may be made by phone, email or in person.
  4. Activity Suite
    1. All users of the fitness suite must have received a full induction on the use of all the fitness
      equipment, prior to using the facilities. Records of these will be kept on site and a copy given to each customer for their own records. No equipment can be used without having had such an induction.
    2. Children under the age of 14 years are not permitted access to the fitness suite. Children aged 14-16 years may only access the gym under supervision of a parent/guardian.
    3. All users must dress appropriately at all times, which must include shirts / vests.
    4. During busy periods use of the cardiovascular equipment is limited to 10 minutes on any one piece of equipment.
    5. Users are advised to bring a sweat towel and a water bottle to ensure sufficient fluid is consumed.
    6. All equipment must be used appropriately having regard for the health and safety of the individual and other users. Users must wipe down machines after use and replace all weights on a rack.
    7. No bags or personal items are permitted in the fitness suite and no valuable personal effects should be brought onto the premises.
    8. Members must notify management in the event they suspect that any of the equipment is faulty or damaged.
  5. Property
    1. Denhale ARC is only responsible for loss or damage to personal property where this results from our negligence.
    2. All lost property is kept for a period of 6 weeks before being disposed of.
  6. Health and Safety
    1. All persons using the centre for the first time must give name, address, date of birth and phone number and where possible email address. For children we require parental name and telephone number in case of accident or incident.
    2. We recommend users consult their GP before undertaking any physical activity. It is users’ responsibility to bring to our attention any changes in their medical condition as stated on their health questionnaire. If in doubt about capacity for any activity, users are advised to seek medical advice.
    3. While using the facilities all users are responsible for their own health and members use the facilities at their own risk.
    4. Organisations making regular bookings are required to provide their own qualified first aid practitioner.
    5.  All accidents or incidents must be reported immediately to a member of staff and an accident form completed.
    6. All users must leave the building immediately if asked to do so by a member of staff or on hearing the alarm.
    7. Users must not use a mobile phone while participating in an activity.
    8. Users must not tamper with or remove any life saving or fire fighting equipment or interfere with equipment, fixtures or fittings.
    9. Visitors or users must not take photos in the building without prior permission.
    10. CCTV coverage is recording throughout the site and may be used as evidence in any breach of the rules.
    11. Users must not bring in food or any dangerous or offensive substances, sell or supply other users with goods of any description.
  7. Behaviour
    1. The Centre has a zero tolerance approach to unacceptable verbal or physical behaviour directed towards staff or other users. Behaviour that is regarded as unacceptable includes, but is not limited to, excessive shouting, swearing, harassment, bullying, discrimination or threats.
    2. Any unacceptable behaviour will be taken very seriously and may result in the immediate ejection from the centre and the permanent exclusion of offenders.
  8. Lockers
    1. Lockers should be used for the storage of personal items at all times. Denhale ARC is not liable for the loss or theft of any personal belongings.
    2. For security reasons and for the benefit of all users, all lockers must be emptied at the end of each session.
    3. All lockers will be checked and emptied at the end of each day. Any items found will be disposed of immediately.
  9. Opening Hours
    1. Denhale ARC may from time to time withdraw use of all or any part of the facilities, where and when it is deemed necessary for repair, maintenance, alteration, alternative use or for safety reasons.
    2. The Centre is open Monday – Friday 8am-5pm with group sessions in the evening and at weekends. At present the Centre is not open on Bank Holidays other than by special arrangement.
    3. The opening times may be changed from time to time. A minimum of a 1 week warning will be provided to customers and will be advertised within the facility as a minimum.
    4. All opening times are subject to timetables that may affect usage of a specific facility.
  10. Miscellaneous
    1. Cars must be parked correctly in the car park, paying due to attention to priority spaces for disabled users. No liability is accepted for loss or damage to cars or property and cars are left solely at the owners’ risk.
    2. Users and visitors are not permitted to smoke in any part of the building or on the site.
    3. No illegal gaming or betting is allowed in any of the Denhale ARC facilities.
    4. Liability for loss or damage to property is limited to any damage or loss suffered as a direct result of negligence of Denhale ARC.
    5. A user shall pay to the Centre on demand the cost of any damage caused by them. The Manager’s decision is final.
    6. No pets are allowed into the facilities with the exception of assistance dogs for disabled people.
  11. Data Protection
    1. The user consents to Denhale ARC processing any personal data the member provides as a result of his/her use of the Centre. Data will be stored confidentially and will not be sent to any third party.
    2. In all matters the manager’s decision is final.
