Disability Sport Yorkshire is proud to be a working partner of West Yorkshire Sport (WYSport).

The organisation is the main body for sport and physical activity in West Yorkshire. It is one of the 45 County Sport Partnerships in England which connect providers of sport and physical activity. Its’ purpose is to support more people to take part and excel in sport and physical activity.

WYSport believes that everybody should have the opportunity to be active and participate in sport, whatever their ability or disability. They are dedicated to improving the access to physical activity and sport for all disabled people within West Yorkshire and can help with links to local sporting opportunities, activities, news, events, coaching and volunteering information.

Creating Connections recommendation service

The Creating Connections Service provides the centrepiece for the work of WYSport in promoting sport and physical activity for disabled people. The aim is to support people to get involved in community sport and physical activities, and to support community clubs/providers to welcome more disabled people to their sessions.

Register HERE for the Creating Connections Service to receive one-to-one guidance and signposting to the most appropriate local activities for you.

WYSport have local development officers based in each district area (Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield) who are able to provide more information. Contact details can be found on the web link below.
